1. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a memory including program code that is executable by the one or more processors for causing the one or more processors to:
generate a graphical user interface through which a user can apply one or more card controls in relation to a card, wherein the one or more card controls dictate whether transactions initiated using the card are to be handled using an account subsystem hosted by a service provider or a service subsystem hosted by the service provider, the account subsystem being different from the service subsystem;
receive an input from the user, via the graphical user interface, for applying a card control to the card; and
in response to receiving the input, cause the service provider to handle transactions associated with the card in accordance with the card control.
