1. An apparatus usable in a firearm system, the firearm system having a front end including an opening a fired projectile exits from, and a rear end opposite the front end, the apparatus comprising:
an assembly mountable on the firearm system, wherein at least one part of the assembly is fastenable to at least one surface of at least one base part, using one or more threaded lengths associated with the at least one surface of the at least one base part;
the at least one part and the at least one base part including:
a threaded opening, and
a non-threaded opening defining a tapered opening arranged to rearwardly urge the at least one part of the assembly against at least one buttressing surface, in response to fastening the at least one part of the assembly to the at least one base part using the threaded opening, wherein the at least one buttressing surface is not part of the one or more threaded lengths;
the rearward urging against the at least one buttressing surface to protect the one or more threaded lengths from sheering forces when a rearward force, in a direction from the front end of the firearm system to a rear end of the firearm system, is applied to the firearm system.
