1. A heat deflector for use with a fire pit having a burn chamber defined by a fire pit sidewall, the burn chamber having a chamber width, the heat deflector comprising:
a deflection panel including:
a first region disposed at a first angle with respect to the horizontal, wherein the first region includes a plurality of ventilation holes, the first region being configured to be disposed directly above the burn chamber when in use;
a second region surrounding the first region and extending radially outwardly, the second region being disposed at second angle with respect to the horizontal, the second region being configured to be disposed directly over the fire pit sidewall when in use and aligned such that an outer edge of the second region is radially outward from the sidewall and an inner edge of the second region is radially inward from the sidewall, wherein the second angle is different than the first angle; and
a central region surrounded by the first region and disposed at a third angle with respect to the horizontal, the central region being configured to be centrally disposed directly over the burn chamber, wherein the third angle is different than the first angle; and
a support configured to maintain the deflection panel in a position over the fire pit.
