1. A roll-dispensed stock cutter and container, comprising:
a container body having bottom, front and back, and side walls forming an enclosure for a roll of stock;
a support wall attached to and extending rearwardly of the front wall;
a lid attached to the container body, the lid having a first portion extending from the back wall, and a second portion extending over the support wall; and
a cutter, comprising:
a base having a receptacle with a bottom surface below the lid and channels configured to slidably engage a slot in the second portion of the lid of the roll-dispensed stock container;
a spring button having a first half and a second half joined together, each of the first and second halves being identically formed and each having a leaf spring, the spring button positioned in the receptacle of the base, and the leaf springs biasing the spring button away from the base; and
a blade fixed between recesses in the first and second halves of the spring button, the recesses sized and shaped to receive the blade and to restrain movement of the blade relative to the spring button;
the spring button having a first position with the blade retracted within the base;
the spring button having a second position with the blade extended through a blade aperture in the base when the spring button is depressed by vertical pressure applied by a user; and
the base, the spring button, the blade, and the slot axially aligned for application of a normal force to the spring button to move the blade to the second position and normal to the support wall to cut stock from the roll of stock as the cutter moves along the slot.
