1. An ambulatory infusion pump system comprising:
a reservoir configured to contain insulin;
a delivery mechanism configured to deliver insulin from the reservoir to a user; and
at least one processor configured to:
determine that a user will be eating a meal; and
cause the delivery mechanism to deliver a meal bolus of insulin of a single fixed amount to the user in a single continuous delivery operation in response to determining that the user will be eating the meal, wherein the single fixed amount of the meal bolus is predetermined without precisely matching the amount of the meal bolus with a number of carbohydrates to be consumed in the meal.
