1. An infusion device system comprising:
a housing assembly, the housing assembly comprising:
a reservoir containing infusible fluid;
a pump assembly; and
a mating assembly;
an infusion device, the infusion device comprising:
a top portion having an introduction needle; and
a bottom portion configured to attach to the mating assembly of the housing assembly, the bottom portion having a cannula;
wherein the introduction needle is configured to pierce skin of a user and provide entry of the cannula;
wherein the housing assembly defines a viewing opening that allows viewing, through the viewing opening, the portion of the cannula that has been inserted into the user; and
wherein the cannula becomes fluidly connected to the reservoir after the bottom portion of the infusion device is attached to the mating assembly.
