1. A tubular element for an aerosol-generating device, the tubular element comprising:
a first longitudinal passageway; and
a porous medium preloaded with gel, the gel comprising an active agent,
wherein the porous medium preloaded with gel comprises a crimped and gathered sheet material,
wherein the gel comprises an active agent comprising an aerosol former,
wherein the gel comprising the active agent further comprises between 60 percent and 95 percent by weight of glycerol,
wherein the gel further comprises a biopolymer gelling agent,
wherein the active agent comprises nicotine,
wherein the porous medium comprises cotton, and
wherein the gel has a viscosity of 10,000 Pascal-second to 1,000 Pascal-second.
