1. An electrical load controller operatively couplable to an alternating current (AC) power source, comprising:
memory circuitry;
a controllably conductive device couplable between the AC power source and an electrical load device;
communications interface circuitry; and
control circuitry communicatively coupled to the memory circuitry and the communications interface circuitry, the control circuitry to:
detect a type of connection linking the controllably conductive device to the AC power source;
responsive to detection of a three-wire connection between the controllably conductive device and the AC power source, phase control power delivery of the AC power source by reversibly transitioning the controllably conductive device between CONDUCTIVE and NONCONDUCTIVE states based on a zero-cross signal received from operatively coupled three-wire zero cross detection circuitry; and
responsive to detection of a two-wire connection between the controllably conductive device couples to an AC power source, phase control power delivery of the AC power source by reversibly transitioning the controllably conductive device between CONDUCTIVE and NONCONDUCTIVE states based on a zero-cross signal received from operatively coupled two-wire zero cross detect circuitry.
