1. A method by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
detecting a radio link failure for a master cell group (MCG); and
performing an operation related to transmission of a message associated with the radio link failure for the MCG,
wherein the performing the operation comprising:
starting a timer, and
transmitting, to the MCG via a secondary cell group (SCG), the message associated with the radio link failure for the MCG via a signaling radio bearer (SRB)1 or an SRB3,
wherein the SRB1 corresponds to a split SRB,
wherein, in case that the SRB1 is configured as the split SRB and a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication is not configured, a configuration for an uplink transmission is changed from a primary radio link control (RLC) entity associated with the MCG to a secondary RLC entity associated with the SCG, and
wherein, in case that the SRB1 is configured as the split SRB, the message associated with the radio link failure for the MCG is transmitted via the SRB1.
