1. A method comprising:
detecting a device having an interface to at least a first network and a second network that is attempting to connect to the first network and lacks credentials to connect to the first network;
determining whether the device is authenticated on the second network, wherein determining that the device is authenticated on the second network comprises:
transmitting an authentication challenge to the device over the second network,
receiving a response to the authentication challenge from the device over the first network,
requesting the second network to verify the response with the authentication challenge, and
receiving a success message indicating that the device is authenticated to access the first network;
in response to determining the device is authenticated on the second network based on the response to the authentication challenge, generating an identifier for the device; and
providing the identifier to the device for installation to enable the device to connect to the first network.
