1. A method for operating a switching power converter, the method comprising:
operating the power converter at multiple different switching frequencies;
measuring an input current of the power converter at each of the multiple different switching frequencies, including receiving information about the input current at a first switching frequency to provide a first current/frequency pair, and receiving information about the input current at a second switching frequency to provide a second current/frequency pair; and
establishing an operating switching frequency of the power converter based on a comparison result of the first and second current/frequency pairs.
