1. An apparatus comprising:
a direct current (DC) source for supplying DC electricity; and
a system for converting the DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity that lacks harmonic distortion, the system comprising a plurality of supply locations and a turbine, the plurality of supply locations for supplying water to the turbine for generation of the AC electricity, and the plurality of supply locations including a first supply location comprising a supply reservoir and a second supply location comprising a coupling;
wherein the system is configurable to supply the water to the turbine on a continuum from: (1) entirely the supply reservoir, (2) a combination of the supply reservoir and from the coupling without passing through the supply reservoir, and (3) entirely the coupling without passing through the supply reservoir, and
wherein the system comprises terminals for connection to an electric transmission and distribution system that includes a power grid through which the AC electricity is delivered to one or more load facilities.
