1. An apparatus comprising:
an acquisition unit configured to acquire information indicating a first object and a second object among a plurality of objects included in input data having a first range;
a calculation unit configured to calculate, based on the acquired information, an intensity indicating a degree of contrast between a brightness of the first object and a brightness of the second object; and
a generation unit configured to generate output data having a second range narrower than the first range by converting luminance values of pixels in the input data, based on the calculated intensity,
wherein, in a case where the calculated intensity is a first intensity, the generation unit generates the output data so that a difference between a luminance of the first object and a luminance of the second object in the output data is a first value, and
wherein, in a case where the calculated intensity is a second intensity indicating that influence of contrast is greater than influence of contrast of the first intensity, the generation unit generates the output data so that the difference between the luminance of the first object and the luminance of the second object in the output data is a second value greater than the first value.
