OG exemplary drawing

1. A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device comprising:
a photo alignment film forming step comprising:
forming a film formed of polyimide having a cyclobutane structure;
imparting an alignment regulating force to the film by irradiation of the film with light in an atmosphere having a temperature lower than 25° C.; and
heating the film after the irradiation to 150° C. or higher to removing a low-molecular weight component generated by the irradiation with the light,
wherein the photo alignment film aligns liquid crystal molecules substantially in parallel with a surface of a substrate, and
wherein the polyimide is represented by chemical formula (1),

OG Complex Work Unit Chemistry
in the formula, R represents a divalent electron donating organic group and n represents the number of repeating units of the polymer.
