1. A method of assisted positioning of a transport vehicle with respect to a work machine during an operation for loading material into a loading container of the transport vehicle via a work implement coupled to the work machine, the method comprising:
generating and storing in data storage loading outcome data corresponding to a plurality of loading cycles for the work machine;
correlating the stored loading outcome data, for each of the plurality of loading cycles, with a position and orientation of the respective loading container, and further with respective loading cycle data for the work machine comprising a swing angle with respect to an orientation of the undercarriage, a loading position relative to the undercarriage, a digging position relative to the undercarriage, and/or a determined profile of work area terrain;
automatically determining a target loading position and orientation for at least the loading container of the transport vehicle relative to at least an undercarriage of the work machine, wherein the target loading position and orientation for a current loading cycle is determined based at least in part on current loading cycle data and a desired loading outcome; and
generating to a controller associated with the transport vehicle one or more output signals corresponding to the target loading position and orientation.
