1. A filter element for filtering a fluid, the filter element comprising:
a longitudinal axis;
a filter bellows arranged about the longitudinal axis and enclosing an interior of the filter element;
a first end disk, open toward the interior of the filter element, arranged at a first end of the filter element;
a second end disk that is closed and is arranged at a second end of the filter element,
wherein the second end is oppositely positioned to the first end when viewed in a direction of the longitudinal axis;
wherein the filter bellows comprises folds, wherein the folds comprise radially outer fold edges positioned on an outer circumferential surface of the filter bellows;
wherein the filter bellows comprises at least one notch at a respective one of the first and second ends of the filter element,
wherein the at least one notch comprises an axial length in the direction of the longitudinal axis,
wherein the axial length is shorter than a length extension of the filter bellows in the direction of the longitudinal axis,
wherein the at least one notch is a widening of a distance between two adjacent folds of the filter bellows folds, wherein the two adjacent folds, as used herein, are neighboring folds without other folds arranged therebetween, the two adjacent folds extending across the length extension of the filter bellows,
wherein the two adjacent folds have a greatest fold edge distance at the respective end of the filter element, the fold edge distance at least one notch tapers such that the fold end distance of the two adjacent folds decreases with increasing axial distance from the respective end of the filter element.
