1. A passive medical system configured for wireless data communication with an analyte sensor system, the passive medical system comprising:
one or more memories for storing instructions and identification information associated with the analyte sensor system;
an insulin pump;
a wireless receiver configured to receive a wireless signal associated with an analyte value, wherein the analyte value is measured by the analyte sensor system; and
a processor operatively coupled to the one or more memories and the wireless receiver, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions to:
receive an advertisement signal from the analyte sensor system, wherein the advertisement signal comprises the analyte value measured by the analyte sensor system, and the advertisement signal is encrypted based on the identification information associated with the analyte sensor system so that a device that has the identification information can decrypt the analyte value;
extract the analyte value from the advertisement signal; and
perform a function associated with the insulin pump based on the extracted analyte value.
