1. A pre-operative planning method for designing a shoulder surgery guide, the method comprising:
virtually positioning an implant through various ranges of motion, wherein virtually positioning the implant comprises:
obtaining, with one or more processors, a virtual representation of the implant;
obtaining, with the one or more processors, a virtual representation of a subject; and
virtually positioning, with the one or more processors, the virtual representation of the implant through the various ranges of motion in the virtual representation of the subject;
measuring impact locations where the virtual representation of the implant impacts virtual representations of bones of the subject through the respective ranges of motion, wherein the virtual representation of the subject includes the virtual representations of the bones of the subject;
determining an implant position, location, or size based on the measured impact locations, wherein determining the implant position, location, or size comprises determining the implant position, location or size that compensates for the measured impact locations to provide for functional range of motion; and
designing the shoulder surgery guide based on the determined implant position, location, or size, wherein designing the shoulder surgery guide comprises determining one or more of peripheral guide structures, cupped surfaces for the peripheral guide structures, and lengths of radial arms that couple to the peripheral guide structures based on the determined implant position, location, or size.
