1. An implantable anastomotic assembly that is configured to be attached to cardiovascular tissue, the implantable anastomotic assembly comprising:
an apical cuff; and
at least one of a plurality of plates circumscribing a circumferential aspect of the apical cuff and configured to be attached to the cardiovascular tissue and compress the cardiovascular tissue with the apical cuff.
