1. A method of decoding point cloud data, the method comprising:
determining a first slice identifier (ID) of a first geometry slice associated with a frame of the point cloud data, the first slice ID identifying the first geometry slice, wherein the first geometry slice comprises first content;
determining a second slice ID of a second geometry slice associated with the frame of the point cloud data, the second slice ID identifying the second geometry slice, wherein the second geometry slice comprises second content;
based on the second slice ID being equal to the first slice ID, determining that the second content is identical to the first content; and
decoding the point cloud data based on the first content and the second content being identical.
