1. An apparatus for wireless communication at a wireless device, comprising:
a first interface configured to:
obtain an indication of a transmission puncturing scheme associated with a rateless coding of communications, the indication of the transmission puncturing scheme comprising an indication of a pattern, over a plurality of occasions of the transmission puncturing scheme, of a plurality of coding indices of the rateless coding, each coding index of the plurality of coding indices corresponding to a cumulative encoding of a respective quantity of message segments; and
obtain one or more signals associated with a message encoded in accordance with the rateless coding, wherein the obtained one or more signals are associated with an encoding that corresponds to the indicated transmission puncturing scheme.
