1. A method of staining a specimen using a gel-phase contact-type staining patch that contains a staining solution configured to react with the specimen, the method comprising:
staining a specimen placed on a slide with a staining solution,
wherein, the staining step comprises,
contacting a surface of the gel-phase contact-type staining patch to the specimen; and
separating the gel-phase contact-type stating patch from the slide.
