1. A method of administering a medicament to a patient, comprising:
providing a delivery device having a flexible first portion enclosing a reservoir containing the medicament, a needle having a first end in communication with the reservoir and a second distal end, a flexible second portion surrounding the needle and having an open distal end for delivering the medicament to the patient, a channel extending between the reservoir and the second portion, where the needle is fixed in the channel,
applying a first pressure to said second portion and compressing said second portion,
contacting said open distal end of said second portion against a skin surface of the patient and releasing the first pressure to pull the skin surface of the patient into said second portion and into contact with said needle where the needle penetrates the skin surface, and
applying a second pressure to the first portion to dispense the medicament from the reservoir through the needle and deliver the medicament to the patient.
