1. A firearm comprising:
a frame having a trigger assembly and defining a bolt passage;
a barrel assembly pivotally connected to the frame for movement between an extended operable condition and a folded inoperable condition;
the barrel assembly defining a barrel axis;
a latch assembly operably connected to the frame and to the barrel assembly;
the latch assembly including a latch operable between a first latched condition and a second unlatched condition;
when the barrel assembly is in the operable condition and the latch is in the latched condition, the barrel assembly is secured in the operable condition;
when the latch is in the unlatched condition, the barrel assembly is free to move away from the operable condition toward the folded condition;
the firearm being free of other restraints on movement of the barrel assembly from the operable condition besides the latch, such that single-control release of the barrel assembly is provided; and
wherein the latch is a trigger guard associated with the trigger assembly and configured to guard a trigger lever of the trigger assembly when the latch is in the latched condition.
