1. An apparatus comprising a processor, a memory, and communication circuitry, the apparatus configured to connect to a network over a plurality of logical channels via the communication circuitry, the apparatus further comprising computer-executable instructions stored in the memory of the apparatus which, when executed by the processor of the apparatus, cause the apparatus to perform operations comprising:
receiving a radio resource control (RRC) configuration comprising data radio bearer (DRB) configuration and a resource configuration,
wherein a DRB configured by the DRB configuration are mapped to a quality of service (QoS) flow in a first layer higher than a PDCP layer, and the resource configuration indicates one or more logical channel restrictions for an uplink grant;
setting, based on the DRB configuration, a mode of operation as one of a transparent mode or a non-transparent mode;
preparing a first data packet according to the set mode of operation, wherein the first data packet has a header comprising a first QoS flow identifier (ID) as a packet marking in the first layer when the non-transparent mode is set as the mode of operation, the first QoS flow ID being set according to the QoS flow mapped to the DRB,
wherein the first data packet is generated without adding a header in the first layer when the transparent mode is set as the mode of operation; and
transmitting the first data packet over a first logical channel of the plurality of logical channels,
wherein the first logical channel is selected based on the one or more logical channel restrictions in a second layer higher than the first layer.
