1. A method, performed by a device for communication system or a processor for the device, comprising:
sending indication information to a terminal device, the indication information indicating an NCS value, and
receiving, from the terminal device, a random access preamble sequence xu,v(n), wherein xu,v(n) is based on a sequence with a root sequence number u and a sequence length NZC, the sequence is represented by xu(n), and wherein xu,v(n)=xu((n+Cv)mod NZC), mod represents a modulo operation, and Cv is a cyclic shift that satisfies:
