1. A system for collecting geophysical data from a set of electrodes impressed in a ground surface, comprising:
a high voltage source;
a master controller, having a microprocessor and a memory;
a set of nodes, in electrical connection with the set of electrodes;
a high voltage bus, connected to the high voltage source, the master controller and the set of nodes;
an upstream communication bus, connected to the master controller and the set of nodes;
a downstream communication bus, connected to the master controller and the set of nodes;
wherein the memory includes a set of instructions, that when executed, cause the system to:
format the set of nodes using the upstream communication bus;
read a current signal from the high voltage bus;
programably distribute a high voltage signal to the set of electrodes from the high voltage bus;
programably read a set of voltage measurement values, from the set of electrodes; and
send the set of voltage measurement values to the master controller using the downstream communication bus;
a current sense resistor, connected to the high voltage bus;
a high voltage current measurement amplifier connected to the current sense resistor;
a first digital to analog converter connected to the high voltage current measurement amplifier; and
a high voltage isolation barrier connected between the first digital to analog converter and the microprocessor.
