1. A method, the method comprising:
receiving current census data for departments of a hospital, wherein the current census data comprises real-time data identifying a number of patients currently admitted within a given of the departments and a current status of the patients;
generating benchmarking data for the hospital by identifying a performance benchmark for a given of the departments by analyzing real-time data and historical data corresponding to the real-time data, wherein the performance benchmark is based upon at least one performance metric related to efficiency and efficacy of the given of the departments, wherein the benchmarking data identifies a length of time patients spend within each of the departments of the hospital and comprises a comparison of performance metrics across different operational elements of care and throughout a patient itinerary;
projecting future census data for the departments based upon at least the benchmarking data, wherein the projecting comprises predicting, by analyzing the current census data against the benchmarking data utilizing a trained model, a location of patients within the hospital at a future time, wherein the trained model is iteratively refined upon updates to the benchmarking data;
displaying, in a dynamic user interface on a facility utilization visualization application, a graphical view of a current utilization of the departments of the hospital determined from the current census data and a projected utilization of the departments determined from the future census data; and
dynamically updating the dynamic user interface in real-time based upon at least one of receipt of new real-time data, receipt of new historical data, and a new analysis of the real-time and the historical data.
