1. A modular expandable signage system for a gaming system having a plurality of gaming machines, the modular expandable signage system comprising:
a track support system mounted adjacent the plurality of gaming machines and operable to releasably receive one or more modular overhead display modules and permit at least one of a translational and a rotational movement of the one or more modular overhead display modules when coupled;
a first modular overhead display housing pivotally coupled to the track support system and having a first plurality of display panels, a first lighting device secured about the first modular overhead display housing and having a first releasable electrical interface;
a second modular overhead display housing pivotally coupled to the track support system and releasably connected to the first modular overhead display housing, the second modular overhead display housing having a second plurality of display panels, a second lighting device secured about the second modular overhead display housing and having a second releasable electrical interface operable to be interfaced with the first releasable electrical interface at the first lighting device, and a controller operable to control the first modular overhead display housing, the second modular overhead display housing, the first plurality of display panels, and the second plurality of display panels.
