1. A system comprising:
a power controller coupled to a circuit breaker panel of a premises configured to receive electrical power from a power grid of a utility or an electrical vehicle (EV) battery;
a component adapted to fit in the circuit breaker panel, the component having a wireless transceiver and configured to control the electrical power to a branch circuit having a critical load at the premises when powered from the power grid, wherein the power controller communicates wirelessly with the component to effect actuation; and
the power controller configured to, in response to a power down of the power grid to the circuit breaker panel, dynamically manage the electrical power via a mobile device using the component to control the electrical power to the branch circuit having the critical load powered from the EV battery, wherein the branch circuit need not be wired to a dedicated circuit breaker panel.
