1. A control device comprising:
a control module including a sensor layer having a plurality of sensing elements, the control module being operable to control a plurality of devices;
an exterior panel arranged in communication with the sensor layer; and
wherein the control module is configured to:
execute detection logic that implements calibration and/or sensitivity adjustment upon detecting a touch gesture performed on the exterior panel;
control an operational aspect of each device of the plurality of devices in accordance with a determination as to whether the touch gesture is performed on a first region of the exterior panel or on a surrounding region to the first region.
