1. An optical device comprising:
an optical element provided on a base;
a first lens covering the optical element to emit light emitted from the optical element;
and
a second lens optically coupled with the first lens to convert the light emitted from the first lens into collimated light, the second lens being provided on the base,
wherein the first lens is configured to form a virtual image on the optical element side,
wherein the first lens includes a plane and a curved surface,
wherein the plane of the first lens excludes the curved surface and faces the optical element, and
wherein the plane of the first lens is joined to an end surface of the optical waveguide in the optical element, the plane being orthogonal to the optical axis of the first lens.
