6. A method for slide drilling, the method comprising:
during a first rotary drilling operation of a wellbore, determining by a slide drilling system that a slide drilling operation is to be performed;
determining, by the slide drilling system, a desired torque for the slide drilling operation and sending one or more control signals to establish the desired torque;
engaging a bottom of the wellbore with a drill bit;
beginning the slide drilling operation;
determining, by the slide drilling system, a target toolface for the slide drilling operation;
maintaining, by the slide drilling system, the target toolface during the slide drilling operation;
determining, by the slide drilling system, if the slide drilling operation is complete;
responsive to determining that the slide drilling operation is complete, ceasing the slide drilling operation and beginning a second rotary drilling operation, wherein the method further comprises:
determining, by the slide drilling system, a current toolface;
determining, by the slide drilling system, responsive to the current toolface and the target toolface, a toolface error; and
determining, by the slide drilling system, whether the toolface error exceeds a threshold therefor, wherein the threshold is determined responsive to at least one of rate of penetration (ROP), weight on bit (WOB), and differential pressure (DP).
