1. A corrosion-resistant substrate comprising:
a substrate comprising a first surface; and
a corrosion-resistant film positioned on at least a portion of the first surface of the substrate, wherein the corrosion-resistant film is solid, and wherein the corrosion-resistant film comprises a bis-quaternized ammonium compound having a general formula:

wherein R1 is an a C1-C10 alkyl group, a C1-C10 hydroxyl alkyl group, a C1-C10 alkenyl group, a C1-C10 alkynl group, a C1-C10 acryl group, a C1-C10 cycloalkyl group, or a C1-C10 functional alkyl group;
wherein R2 and R3 are each independently chosen from a C1-C18 alkyl group, a C1-C18 hydroxyl alkyl group, a C1-C18 alkenyl group, a C1-C18 alkynl group, or a C1-C18 acryl group; and
wherein n is an integer from 1 to 18.
