1. A computer system, comprising:
a processor;
a display device coupled to the processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to perform a method used for planning radiation treatment, the method comprising:
accessing information comprising a location of an isocenter based on a location of a treatment target;
accessing information comprising a value of beam energy for a beam of radiation and also comprising a value of an angle of the beam relative to the treatment target;
determining a range of a field of the beam relative to the treatment target using the isocenter and the angle;
determining whether the range of the field of the beam satisfies a criterion, the criterion being an amount of a Bragg peak outside of a patient's body;
including the value of the angle of the beam in a plan for radiation treatment in response to the criterion being satisfied; and
displaying, on the display device, a graphical user interface (GUI) including a rendering of the treatment target and a rendering of the range of the field of the beam relative to the treatment target, the rendering of the range of the field of the beam being adjustable with respect to the rendering of the treatment target to determine whether the range of the field of the beam satisfies the criterion.
