1. A method of treating a catalase-positive microbe in contact with a tissue, said method comprising the steps of: applying visible light to the catalase-positive microbe at a wavelength of about 400 nm to about 430 nm, wherein catalase within the catalase-positive microbe is inactivated, and contacting the microbe with a reactive oxygen species generating agent.
