1. An apparatus for detecting a relative position of medical devices located within a human body, the apparatus comprising:
an outer elongate member;
an inner elongate member comprising
a plurality of electrodes,
a first sensor member having a first length,
wherein the inner elongate member is configured to move within the outer elongate member, wherein the first sensor member is configured to generate a first signal indicative of movement of the inner elongate member relative to the outer elongate member and wherein the first sensor member extends under a portion of at least one of the plurality of electrodes; and
a position detection module including an electronic control unit configured to determine a co-axial position of the inner elongate member relative to the outer elongate member based on the first signal,
wherein the first sensor member includes a longitudinal center point, wherein the longitudinal center point of the first sensor member is positioned at a longitudinal location equal to a longitudinal center of one of the plurality of electrodes.
