1. An endoscopic surgical instrument, comprising:
a distal end configured to perform an action on tissue;
a drive rod;
a beam movable longitudinally in response to an action on the drive rod;
a rail configured to prevent the beam from buckling as the beam is moved longitudinally; and
a bearing movable relative to at least a part of the rail, wherein at least a part of the bearing is located longitudinally between the drive rod and the beam.
