1. A vision system for a mobile robot, the vision system comprising:
a lens module;
an illumination system comprising a plurality of light sources; and
a lens module holder is positioned around the lens module to allow the lens module to extend upward through the lens module holder, the lens module holder comprising a flange that projects radially outwards from the outside of the lens module holder,
wherein a reflective surface is positioned on a surface underneath the flange, the reflective surface capable of reflecting light emitted from the illumination system away from the lens module.
