1. A method of treating a subject, comprising:
a. providing to a subject a loose-fitting treatment garment that is configured to be worn on at least a portion of the subject's body to produce a local bolus effect factor of no more than 1.3 when the body is exposed, through the fabric, to a polyenergetic x-ray radiation beam of from 6 MV up to 18 MV, or a therapeutic particle beam with a range in water to the distal 50% of 2 cm or greater;
b. aligning the subject wearing the garment, and positioning the garment on the subject, according to a reference geometry, the positioned garment being loose-fitting on the portion of the subject's body; and
c. performing a radiation treatment on the subject.
