1. An amplifier circuit, comprising:
an operational amplifier;
a first switch that connects a first input of the operational amplifier to ground;
a first resistor in parallel with the first switch;
a second switch that connects an output of an input signal source to the first input of the operational amplifier;
a third switch that connects the output of the input signal source to a second input of the operational amplifier;
a second resistor connected between the second input of the operational amplifier and ground;
a feedback resistor connected between an output of the operational amplifier and the second input of the operational amplifier,
wherein
in response to an instruction to operate in a first mode, the first switch and the third switch close and the second switch opens, and
in response to an instruction to operate in a second mode, the first switch and the third switch open and the second switch closes; and
a mode control component configured to selectively generate the instruction to operate in the first mode or the instruction to operate in the second mode in response to detecting a condition that dictates operation of the amplifier circuit in the first mode or in the second mode.
