1. A data collection device comprising:
a first portion;
a second portion, wherein the first portion is configured to rotate relative to the second portion;
a sensor arrangement configured to detect rotation of the first portion relative to the second portion, wherein the sensor arrangement is supported by and fixed in rotation relative to the second portion, and wherein the sensor arrangement directly detects rotation of the first portion; and
a processor arrangement configured to determine a medicament amount expelled by an injection device based on the detected rotation.
