1. A system comprising
a pressure monitoring catheter;
and a cable configured to connect with the pressure monitoring catheter, the cable configured to obtain a plurality of readings of a bladder pressure of a bladder of a patient, the cable configured to store into a memory the readings as pressure values;
the cable comprising a first end configured to operably connect to the pressure monitoring catheter, a second end configured to operably connect to a monitor, the monitor configured to display the pressure values, a printed circuit, and a filtering system configured to collect and analyze a data input from a pressure sensor of the pressure monitoring catheter;
the filtering system configured to (1) filter out upper values of the pressure values, (2) take lower values of the pressure values over predetermined periods of time, (3) calculate an average value of the pressure values based on the lower values, and (4) transmit the average value to the monitor, the monitor configured to display a readout of the average value;
the pressure monitoring catheter configured for insertion into the patient, the pressure monitoring catheter comprising:
a first balloon at a distal portion of the pressure monitoring catheter, the first balloon having a first outer wall, the first outer wall configured to expand from a first condition to a more expanded condition;
and a second balloon having a second outer wall, the second outer wall configured to expand from a first condition to a more expanded condition;
the first balloon being external of the second balloon, the second balloon having a fluid chamber filled with a pressure measuring fluid, the fluid chamber configured to monitor the bladder pressure within the patient;
wherein the first balloon and the second balloon are configured such that, when the first balloon and the second balloon are each in the more expanded condition, in response to pressure exerted from the bladder of the patient onto the first outer wall of the expanded first balloon, fluid pressure is exerted on the second outer wall of the expanded second balloon to deform the second balloon and compress the pressure measuring fluid within the second balloon to provide a second balloon pressure measurement;
wherein the cable is configured to receive the second balloon pressure measurement from the second balloon multiple times to thereby receive a plurality of second balloon pressure measurements;
and wherein the cable is configured to store into the memory the second balloon pressure measurements as the pressure values.
