1. A charger comprising:
a first positive electrode terminal configured to be electrically coupled to a second positive electrode terminal of a battery pack;
a first negative electrode terminal configured to be electrically coupled to a second negative electrode terminal of the battery pack;
a first communication terminal;
a charging circuit configured to supply electric power to the battery pack via the first positive electrode terminal and the first negative electrode terminal;
a data input circuit including an input terminal electrically coupled to the first communication terminal and a ground terminal electrically coupled to the first negative electrode terminal, the data input circuit being configured to receive first data via the first communication terminal and the input terminal, and
a limiting circuit configured to limit a flow of electric current from the first negative electrode terminal to the first communication terminal via the data input circuit to a greater degree than a flow of electric current from the first communication terminal to the first negative electrode terminal via the data input circuit.
