1. A method of determining location, the method performed by a mobile device, the method comprising:
determining first locations of the mobile device at a first sampling interval during a first time period, wherein the first locations are determined using a first location technology mode, and wherein the mobile device has a first status during the first time period;
measuring, by one or more sensors of the mobile device, one or more sensor values from the one or more sensors of the mobile device;
detecting a status change based on the measured one or more sensor values, wherein the status change comprises a change in a movement of the mobile device; and
responsive to detecting the status change, determining second locations of the mobile device at a second sampling interval that is different than the first sampling interval,
wherein the second sampling interval is performed until a second status change in the movement of the mobile device is detected by the one or more sensors of the mobile device.
