1. A telescopic sight for firearms comprising:
magnifying elements disposed along a user optical path between an objective lens assembly and an ocular lens;
an imaging system including an imaging sensor and an image processor, said imaging system disposed outside of said user optical path;
a digital optical augmentation (DOA) system disposed outside of said user optical path;
at least one optical element disposed within said user optical path between said objective lens assembly and said ocular lens, said at least one optical element adapted to:
redirect at least a portion of a spectrum of incoming light from said objective lens assembly to said imaging sensor along a video optical path defined as being between said objective lens assembly and said imaging sensor,
redirect/reflect digital markings projected from said DOA system into said user optical path and disallow said projected digital markings from reaching said imaging sensor, and
allow at least a portion of said incoming light from said objective lens assembly to pass through said at least one optical element to said ocular lens; and
wherein said imaging system is adapted to capture and process imagery from said incoming light redirected along said video optical path to said imaging sensor to provide image processing data.
