1. A peptoid polymer or salt thereof having the sequence [H2P2]n, [P2H2]n, X-[H2P2]n-Y, X-[P2H2]n-Y, [H2P2]nH2, [P2H2]nH2, [H2P2]nP2, or [P2H2]nP2,
wherein the subscript n is between 2 and 5;
wherein H is a hydrophobic peptoid monomer selected from the group consisting of

wherein the subscript m is the number of repeat units and is between 1 and 10,
wherein P is a polar peptoid monomer selected from the group consisting of

and
wherein X and Y are independently selected from the group consisting of H, optionally substituted C1-8 alkyl, optionally substituted C1-8 acyl, optionally substituted C1-8 alkylamino,-OH,-SH,-NH2, secondary amine, tertiary amine, carboxy, optionally substituted C1-8 hydroxyalkyl, optionally substituted C1-8 alkylamino, optionally substituted C2-8 alkylthio, optionally substituted C1-8 carboxyalkyl, and halogen.
