1. A device used for stabilizing the pelvis of a patient, the device comprising:
a first strap configured to substantially surround the patient at a first location adjacent the pelvis, the first strap including:
a first horizontal section configured to be positioned adjacent a back side of the patient, and
a second angled section configured to be positioned adjacent a front side of the patient;
a second strap configured to substantially surround the patient at a second location adjacent the pelvis and below the first strap, the second strap including:
a first horizontal section configured to be positioned adjacent the back side of the patient, and
a second angled section configured to be positioned adjacent the front side of the patient,
wherein the first horizontal section of the first strap and the first horizontal section of the second strap are configured to be positioned vertically equidistant from greater trochanters of the patient; and
a third strap positioned between the first strap and the second strap and coupled to the second angled sections of the first strap and the second strap.
