1. A radio access network node for a telecommunications network, the radio access node comprising:
processing circuitry; and
a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the radio access network node to:
responsive to detection of a trigger event associated with a wireless device having a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node or seeking to establish a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node, transmit, directly to a user plane core network node, a message initiating establishment of a user-plane tunnel for the connection between the radio access network node and the user plane core network node, wherein
the message comprises a first indication of an identifier, wherein the first indication is an indication of an identifier of the wireless device or an indication of an identifier of a session for the wireless device,
the message further comprises an indication of a downlink tunnel endpoint identifier of the radio access network node, and
the first indication of the identifier is different than and separate from the indication of the downlink tunnel identifier.
