1. A method for optimizing one or more parameters of a head mounted display (HMD), the method comprising: obtaining, by one or more sensors of the HMD, sensor measurements during rotation of a display of the HMD between a first end position of a range of motion of a hinge of the display about an axis and a second end position of the range of motion of the hinge about the axis, wherein the hinge connects the display of the HMD to a portion of the HMD, and wherein the display is configured to move about the hinge between the first end position and the second end position;
determining, by one or more processors of the HMD, parameters of the HMD based on the sensor measurements and the rotation of the display between the first end position of the range of motion of the hinge and the second end position of the range of motion of the hinge about the axis; and
determining pose information for the HMD based on the determined parameters.
